Server errors when publishing site

Hi all,
My ISP is Wanadoo (now Orange).
My web server is 1&1
My speed is 1meg broadband (although not with uploading)
I use Frontpage 2003.

Until recently, when publishing sites to my web server, everything has been fine.
But recently I tried publishing a site containing much larger zip & exe files for customers to
download.
During publishing, I kept getting CONNECTION TIME OUT errors, or SERVER ERROR: CLIENT CLOSED
CONNECTION.

My web server says everything is fine their end and the Frontpage Extensions are operating.
Now they are saying that my ISP might be causing the problem.
My ISP has a 2mb file size limit (the files I try to upload to 1&1 are up to 12mb in size)
My ISP though say it shouldn't make any difference.

I'm stumped.
Any ideas anyone?

TIA

FrontPage server extensions on the host site have a 1MB limit, unless your
host changes it.

So, does that mean I can bypass this limit if I publish those big files via the FTP option in
Frontpage or an exxternal FTP program?
Thanks.

Use an external FTP program. Best way is to place all large files in their
own subweb, that way any accidental corruption of the extensions when using
FTP will be confined to the subweb, and will not affect the main web.
When using FTP, do NOT upload folders - only the folder contents.
Uploading an entire folder will corrupt the extensions since that will also
upload the local copy of extensions meta data, overwriting and corrupting
the copy on the server.
