Bob Swarm

Upgraded server to 2003 server. Trying to extend site w/
FP server extensions 2002 and received the following
error:

The server administration programs and the server
extensions on the web server are not compatable. The
adminstration program is too old to use with htis server.

Cannot find andy reference in technet.

Any Help?

I'm not sure where you're trying to install the server extensions from, but
they should be installed via the Windows Server 2003 Installation CD
(Add/Remove Windows Components).

I simply upgraded the server.

So I removed server extensions through Add/Remove Windows
Components

Then I re-added it

Now the site in question report that it has server
extensions installed (not 2002 server extensions) and I
attmented to remove them from the site & they eill not
remove.

Bob,

It sounds as though you are trying to install an earlier version of the
Server Extensions. Note that on Windows Server 2003, you should ALWAYS use
the version of the Server Extensions that ship with Windows. They contain
additional configuration settings that allow you to make your server more
secure.

See http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/whitepapers/fpse2002.asp.

Installing server extensions on the OS is only the first step. You must
explicitly configure the server extensions on each web site you want to use
them.
