Server Extensions and FP2003

I got some good advice previously on getting my server extensions to work. I
ended up deleting the web server from the IIS and re-creating it. That got
it to work. But, I marked the executables box in the wizard that prevented
me from publishing to the server from my remote system. When I changed the
executable setting, the whole web went down again. Well, not down. Just I
could not get into the server to update the pages.

I am able to change up my server extensions now where lately it has asked me
to increase the security on the extensions. I do that figuring that it can't
possibly hurt. With or without increased security, I still can not get back
into the connection.

I continue to get an error where I have four possibilities:
1. Extensions are not installed (Not the case)
2. Server is down (I can remote in using RealVNC and see that it is up)
3. Extensions are not active (verified that they are installed and
functioning)
4. I can't remember right off the top of my head what this one is.

But it is kind of annoying. The server is in my home and within my internal
network. So at this point, short of a complete format and reinstall of the
hard drive, I am not sure what to do. The web pages have been copied over to
an external HDD for backup purposes. But, I cannot seem to get the server
extensions back again. I had it for a brief time. But porked it pretty bad,
apparently.

I could use any help possible. I am lost, dazed, confused, frustrated...
The problems began about a month ago. And I have just about reached my limit.
