When trying to upload the pictures this message came up
server error the server extensions were unable to access Please check the
file permissions Contact internet service provider or Web service
adminstrator for more info
...............public_html\reunionpics\.Thumbs.db.tmp This file was created
when I used the photo gallery in Front Page 2003. Where do I go from here.
Photo gallery auto creates a thumbnail. Everything I'm reading says I should
delete the db.tmp file. Is that my only option? Thank you for any help you
can give me.

delete the thumbs.db, they're created when you browse a folder with Explorer
with file view set to Thumbnails (i think other image viewers do too).

Why does FP have a photo gallery that uses thumbs if they won't work on a web
site? Are there any other options I've tried some of the things FP has to
offer but I like the gallery so far or am I missing something, I wouldn't be
surprised by that, I've been at this all day. Thank you for your help.

They do work, the error is not referring to those thumbs. It means you have
browsed a folder within your FP website with Windows Explorer (or possibly
another image browser) which creates a thumbnail db file named Thumbs.db.
You can safely delete them in any folder anywhere you see them, they'll just
be created again if you browse that folder with an image viewer.

Caveat lector; The FP slideshow photogallery can be flakey at times, and
won't work with some browsers.

Take a look at JAlbum if you want to use slideshows...easy and free.

I e-mailed the web hosting site I use and they fixed the problem, but that
leaves me with not knowing what the problem was but at least that gives my
brain a rest for a while. So I thank you for all your help and quick reponse.
