Server Side Mail Merge

Guys,

I have been doing client side mail merge up till now and we want to start
doing server side merging. I have the following questions:

1). I have one server with "WORD PIA v12" and Word Viewer with Compatiblity
pack installed. I wanted to know if that is enough for performing the mail
merge or do I have to install the whole Word App in the server.

2). I have seen some posts saying that installing Word in the server can
cause issues, but no one has explained what they can be.

3). In Word, is there such a thing called silent merging, meaning the
properties Word.Visible and Word.Acttivate() need not be invoked.

I did see an article on the server side merghing in this forum but I do not
want to follwoing similar path.

require the full Word app to be installed on the server.

Yes, it is possible to do "silent merging"
