We have a web-based solution today that uses server-side Microsoft Word OLE
automation to generate Word documents for clients. As you may know, this not
recommended or supported by Microsoft. We have ongoing stability issues
with the software and I have grave concerns about its scalability moving
forward.
Does anyone know of a clean, thread-safe solution out there for creating
Word documents? There seem to be plenty of such tools for PDFs. I've
considered using RTFs but the image compression in native Word is an order
of magnitude better. We would use straight HTML in Word-friendly format, but
there doesn't seem to be any way to embed binary image data. Any ideas?
