server times out before I can download service pack 3 on outlook

Office Outlook 2003. Windows Xp, I have tried to download and install the
service pack 3 ( I think that is what it was), I keep getting an error on my
e-mail to update this , which I use Outlook 2003 for my e-mail, I am on dial
up, takes over 400 min. terrible, I am getting cut off line before it gets
done, have started all over 2 times today, it is not on my desktop to open
and contuine with the download, is there any way it can pick back up where it
was when I got cut ofline?
Takes a lot of hours when you have already tried it 2 times in one day.
