Service pack 3 install failure

I'm building a new system, installed Office XP Standard from my
CD, and now office update (sp3) is failing to install. Is this
due to the fact that it's still on my old machine, and now
Microsoft's registration process is somehow preventing me from
setting it up on my new machine?

If so, how should I proceed?

Delete the ZZZ.
It keeps spam
off the server.
