service pack 3 updates??

i am trying to update the service pack 3 that has been downloaded but i keep
getting the messge that it is on a network resource and therefore can't get
the update. any ideas what i can do?

At a guess, I would say the update was looking for the original installation
files.

Have you tried downloading and installing the full file manually.
