downloaded sp 3 and now my computer won't start at all. Upon reboot got "we
apologize but windows could not open successfully due to a hardware or
software change", says restart normal, safe mode, last known good config,
etc. No matter what way I restart just goes back to same message. Tried
contacting microsoft but no response. Help! Please!

Whye are these generel DOS/Windows questions posted here in the Mac forums?

I keep getting messages that have nothing to do with mac.

You've wound up in the Mac Office newsgroup - not that you aren't welcome
here, but there's little we can do for something like this. I'm guessing
you're referring to SP3 for Win Office, so start here:

Hi John -

Take a look at the source header on those messages & you'll see that the
overwhelming majority are coming through the discussions.microsoft.com web
interface which - if you've never had the misfortune of using - is a real
rat's nest to untangle. It's very easy for an inexperienced user to get
misdirected... And some simply grab a group that *sounds like it's close* to
what they need simply out of frustration

Be patient with them - I've seen a number of Mac questions in the Win groups
as well for exactly the same reasons.
