Set drop down list width

Is there a way to set the drop down window that displays the selection
options so that it is wider than the actual field on the form? I realize a
selection may be partially hidden in the field once it has been selected, but
it would be nice to see more of the options when they display in the
selection window. I am limited on the field width and can't always control
the length of the options. (I think the answer is "no")

Hi,
There is no option to display the values more width than the drop down
control. If you want to show the total value you need to set the width of
that control to fit the value.

How do you "set the width of that control"? I also need the drop down field
to hold more text than allowed.
