Set label default paper tray

D

David

Hi All

I am trying to find out how to set the default paper feed
tray for labels. Whenever I open labels >options the
paper tray is always set to the printer default.

My networked printer (Lexmark optra 520) has all bins
filled with blank letter paper and is set to auto select
paper.

I need to have my labels default to the MP tray, but for
the life of me, I cannot discover how to set this option?

Thanks in advance
David

Hi David,

I'm not certain it can be done... For envelopes, there is
definitely a registry entry Word will recognize. The exact
entry varies according to your printer/printer driver.

For my HP Laserjet 4, for example, the key path is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\HP
Laserjet 4, the key name is EnvBin and it accepts a value
such as "1" or "2".

But there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for labels. At
least, not for my configuration.

I do notice that I can record a macro that sets the
"LaserTray". But I'm not sure in which versions of Word this
is available (I'm using 2003).
