I think it would be very useful if I could right-click on a message in
Outlook, and set the message to automatically delete after a given period of
time, i.e. 1 day, 5 days, 2 weeks, 1 month.
Often, I receive many email messages through Outlook where the information
contained in the message has a very finite useful life. For example, vendors
will send out messages saying they are on vacation for the next two days, and
then provide a list of alternate contact names for while they are away. I
rarely need the info, but I can't delete it just in case I do. I know that I
won't need the message after 5 days max, so I should be able to tell Outlook
to just delete it after those 5 days. Kind of like the flag for follow-up,
but it should be more streamlined, from the pop-up menu, and there is no
followup required, Outlook just deletes the messages when they expire.
This would really help with mailbox management and storage restrictions.
