Setting a default data template for network diagrams

Hi,

I am creating a simple network diagram and simply want the name of the task
to be shown. I have been able to customise the data template box to do this,
but I am struggling to get this customise template to be saved as the default.

How do i go about this? i.e. setting a default data template for network
diagrams.

Thanks

Hello FahedBizzari,

I don't believe you can set a data template as default. However, you
can create a custom network diagram view with your custom data template
applied. Copy the custom view back to the global template using the
Organizer. Then you just need to apply that customized view to other
files.

See the posting by titled "Copy data template to global" begun by Anita
on 2 December 2007 in this newsgroup for some additional information.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I've used the same simple Network Diagram for years, with just the
task name field. Very useful. I don't know about making it truly the
"default" ND, but you can certainly make it the "Network Diagram", and
only one that appears on the short list of views.

Create your new diagram. Rename your "old", original ND. I call mine
"Old Network Diagram". Then just rename your Name only ND to "Network
Diagram". If you then copy all these views in the Organizer over to
your Global.mpt, you should have what you want. Unless I'm missing
something.

Hope this helps in your world.
