Setting certain objects not to print.

I am creating a letterhead template for pre-printed
letterhead paper. Meaning that some drawing objects that
are placed in the header and footer will need to be
viewed when the letter is being typed in Word (simply as
a guide to how the final outcome will look), but these
images should not be printed. I am aware that you can set
drawing objects not to print, but this option will not be
suitable because there may be additional drawing items
created that should be printed even though the header and
footer should not.
How can this be achieved? I've seen a working example but
cannot figure out how it was done).

It would take careful planning and placement, but you might try formatting
them as Hidden (select paragraph containing object, choose Format - Font,
click Hidden), setting Hidden to display (Tools - Options - View, check
Hidden text), and setting Hidden to not print (Tools - Options - Print,
uncheck Hidden text under Include with document).

Hidden text and objects take up no space. A better solution is to color the
text white and increase the brightness on graphics to 100%.
