Setting Changes: "archive items in this folder using the default settings"

Hi,

Client is Outlook 2003, connecting via cached exchange mode to Exchange
server. The user cannot send/receive as he has hit his mailbox size
limit. I am trying to archive old emails, so I open the properties for
each folder to archive, but when I set the "archive items in this
folder using the default settings" radio button and click Ok, it is not
remebered. The setting returns to "Do not archive items in this
folder".

Any suggestions welcome!

Do it manually. Select items from the Mailbox and drag to folders in the
Archive. Make sure the destination folder is the relevant type. Eg a Tasks
folder to put old Tasks into.

Thanks Judy,

I had already done that, as the user was getting frantic. But it's not
the most elegant solution. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

my view is autoarchive is flaky and I would never rely on it.
