Setting Character limit within a table or cell

Kathy

Does anyone know if this is even possbile. We are trying to have people
fill out names and addresses within a cell but the address could go on
forever making the cell larger, anyway to set a character limit within
a cell or table?

Hi Kathy -

Bring up the Forms Toolbar, click in a cell & insert a Text Form Field. Then
click the Form Field Options button & set the max length. At the very least
you will have to use the Protect Form button (Lock icon) to lock the form
before it can be used & most likely want to save the form as a template.

Kathy,

Word does not have any option to limit to number of characters you can enter
into a table cell. You can set the width of the column and the height of
the row to an exact value. With the exact value setting, the cell will not
grow larger as you add more text. You'll find these settings in the Table
Properties dialog off of the Table menu.
