setting constant currency for each particular fieldname transactio

I'm trying to have my transactions (fieldname) to work with a set currency.
For example, transaction A will always be $10. Transaction B will always be
$15, etc. I've tried several different validation rules with different
expressions and don't seem to be able to get the right syntax.
