Setting Custome Properties to a document

In the majority of Office applications if you go to File>Properties>custom
you can set custom properties for a document as a whole.

I know that within Visio 2003 you can set Custom properties to specific
shapes through, Insert>Field>Custom Properties, however field is greyed out
if a specific shape is not picked.

Is there a way of setting custom properties to the document asa a whole????

First of all, this is not custom prooperty, but document property.
You cannot define new items for the document property as you can for the
custom property.

Second, text field cannot be inserted in the page with the menu operations,
but can be with VBA. I think it has no meaning because a page itself cannot
show a text. To show a text on the page a shape have to be added, because a
text is also a shape.
