A person with adequate rights creates a public folder, and some
sub-folders with it. They are able to assign rights to the public
folder, and the sub-folders created at the same time, without issue;
any rights they assign on the main folder creation propagate properly.
Later, they have to add other people and want to give those people
rights to the main folder as well as sub-folders. But when they create
the sub-folder, the new user (who has been given rights to the main
folder) doesn't by default have rights to the sub-folders.
Is there a means to propagate rights down from a folder to its
sub-folders, other than at initial folder creation? Or a way to set the
default rights on the main folder so that anyone who is given rights to
it also has the same rights for sub-folders?
I am looking for the equivalent of what's called "inherited rights
filter" in Novell, but for Outlook public folders. So if I add a user
to the main folder, those rights will propagate down to any sub-folders,
other than at folder creation. Or, perhaps, call it "default rights"
for sub-folder creation.
Thanks.
