setting default location for open and save files

In the help files for office enterprise 2007 you are directed to the
Microsoft Office Button. Its as plain as the nose on your face in all the
programs but publisher. can anyone tell me where it is in publisher or how to
set the defaults if there is no such button ?

While I do not have Publisher 07 on any of my systems yet, I
don't think the ribbon bar is part of Pub 07 so the location
should be:

Click Tools, Options and then the General Tab. The default
location of your files can be changed there.

There is no such button. Put your Publisher save folder in My Places in Windows
XP or Favorite Links in Vista.

Not so, unfortunately, and I don't see anywhere to do it.

Nope, it's a known screw-up. It was eliminated/missed. As a workaround you can customize the Open and Save As dialog boxes.

It's directions for how to change the My Spaces bar. Is there a problem with
it? I didn't walk thru the steps because I don't use Win XP any longer.

If you read the article, you will see it has about nothing to do with Publisher.

JoAnn -

Well, I don't get it. The kb article says:

1. On the File menu in any Office program, click Open.
2. In the Open dialog box, select the item that you want to add in the
contents pane. For example, in the Look in list, click My Documents. On
the Contents pane, click My Pictures.
3. Click Tools, and then click Add to "My Places".

Except in my Publisher 2007 Open dialog, Tools only offers Delete,
Rename and Map Network Drive. What am I not understanding?

TIA,
Craig

JoAnn -

Please disregard my previous. I was looking at instructions for Office
2002/2003. However, the instructions for 2007 refers to a My Places bar.
Where is that? It refers to the Microsoft Office Button, too. Where is
that? Please note I have only Publisher 2007, not the full Office 2007
suite.

TIA,
Craig

Sheesh. Nevermind. I figured it out. There is no My Places (or at least
nothing labelled as such), but right-clicking on the left side pane
allows one to add what is in the Look In bar.

Sorry for all the messages.
