Setting Default Printing Options (Handouts)

I work in a computer lab. When students print PowerPoint presentations, they
should print them as handouts, with six on each slide (to conserve paper and
ink).

Is there any way to make this the default option so that students don't need
to remember to set it this way?

There's no simple way. You would need to write code or have someone do it for
you and compile it as an add in.
