Setting default Styles

I'm using Visio 2002 SP2. When I open a new drawing my style is showing as
Basic/Ariel/8pt. I would like to change that style to Basic/Times New
Roman/12pt. I have looked everywhere in the product and cannot find it. One
place I was able to change the attributes, hit OK, and when I came back into
Visio it still had the same old defaults. Is this changable?
