Setting duration from the calendar

Hej,

I just started using Project and it is rather difficult to accept setting
the duration first rather than setting the calendar start/stop times and
letting duration adjust to the calendar times. Is this possible in Project
or is it just a 'feature' that can't be changed?

Hi

Project's main purpose is to be a scheduling tool - you tell it what needs
to be done, how long it is going to take, what needs to be done before this
thing can be done, who is doing it and what their availability is (amongst
other things) and Project comes up with the schedule of WHEN things can
therefore be done.

So you wanting to input the WHEN basically negates the reason that Project
exists ....
