Setting flag for a thread

I am working on a simple query/response setup - an addition to our project
management processes. I have created a new "Query" custom form and a
"Response" custom form, based on IPM.Post. I am using the Conversation
property to distinguish threads. When a query has been satisfactorily
resolved, I want to be able to set a "Resolved" flag or property to yes for
the whole thread. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?
