Setting in Word causing keyboard to quit responding?

Caroline

While editing a Word 2002 document, I may have changed a setting by accident.
The keyboard has quit responding. It is a micro innovations wireless, and
the low battery light doesn't indicate battery problems. It seems to be
communicating with the pc, because when I press any key, there is a soft beep
from the pc, but no other response. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Caroline

Yes, several times. I since have tried another keyboard that is wired. The
same symptoms, so it's not the keyboard, it's something in the pc. I'm at a
loss.

It is just Word, or do other applications behave the same way? For example,
did you use that same computer & keyboard to types these past few messages?

If so... then my guess is that you had a trial version of Word/Office, and
it has now expired.

The keyboard would would not respond to anything. I was using my laptop to
communicate, as I couldn't get past McAfee Privacy service to get on the
internet which required a password that I couldn't enter. This morning I did
a system restore to before I had the problem (duh! I guess I'm not the
sharpest knife in the drawer), and it is working fine. I probably will never
know what happened, but it sure made me crazy for a while. Thank you Anne
and Herb for answering my plea for help. It's nice to know you are out there
willing to help people like me.
Warm regards,
Caroline
