I am using outlook 2007.
i have a few IMAP accounts and a personal folder .pst file what has my
contacts and old emails.
the imap accounts have their own pst.. and the new emails get delivered to
their respective pst's
now, i want to add another email account i have - which is on an MS exchange
server
when i add this, it automatically makes that data file to be the default
data file.
BUT i want my personal folder to be the default data file (because its
contacts are being synced to my iphone)
now when i set my pst to be my default data file, it gives me a warning
saying that all my exchange email will be delivered to the pst instead of the
ost. and that this is not recommended.
why does ost have to be the default data file for the exchange mail to get
delivered to the ost ??
that seems like a weird requirement to me.
i want to be able to set my pst as the DEFAULT data file PLUS
i want my exchange mail to be delivered to the corresponding ost file.
when i go to the account setting dialog (either from the mail applet in
control panel or from within outlook), under the E-mail tab, it does not give
me a button to 'change folder' to set the folder where new email is
delivered, although while searching the web, i saw other posts with screen
captures that have a button at that place... for whatever reason, i don't
have that button.
thanks for your time
