Setting reminders by rule or category in Outlook 2003?

Is there a way to set reminders based on category, or create a rule to do
that? I imported (extended) family birthdays and anniversaries, but
everything is automatically set to no reminder, which I didn't think about
until I had already categorized them all under "family" and "birthday" or
"anniversary." So I'd like a way to set a reminder for all events in the
"birthday" category - make sense? Thanks!!
