setting reporting on project by project basis

We just recently added a new division to our project server. The rest of our
company uses %complete to report on tasks but they use project for time
reporting and ask that employees report by day. I set the default as
reporting percent complete but under lock down method I chose "allow project
manager to change the default method for reporting progress". How can these
individual project managers set up their projects so they can report actual
hours while the rest of our teams still report percent complete.

The managers of projects that will use the "Hours of work per day or per
week" will need to create their projects and then click Tools - Customize -
Published Fields. At the top of the dialog, they can select the correct
method of tracking. Hope this helps.
