Setting the "File\Open" short links by Group Policy

Alessandro

Hello all.
I manage a WinServer2003, and on the clients there is installed WinXP with
OfficeXP.
I have set, by the server Group Policy, the parameter in
User\Administrative Models\Windows Components\Explorer\Common Dialog Form
File Open (I hope that this is correct, I have it in italian)
to change the short links (buttons on the left) in the "File\Open" form.
I have noticed that this change functions correctly in all the softwares
that are installed on the clients, except for those included in OfficeXP,
where the short links doesn't change.
Someone has yet found this problem? There is a solution?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Alessandro,

Office has its own Places Bar, using a separate registry entry specific to Office XP apps. This article may help with the location.
I don't have the GPO Adm templates for Office XP (2002 series apps) handy to check them.

Hi Bob,
thank you for the help.
I have looked into the Office adm files but I haven't found these options.
However it's not a problem, i will manage them by the registry key that you
indicated.

Cheers

Alessandro
