setting the grid to thousands of an inch, not 1/4 or 1/8

I am using visio profesional 5.0c. No matter what I do I
cannot get the ruler and grid to display and snap to .01
inch increments. It always displays and snaps
to .25, .125, ....

Can anyone help me?
