Setting the width of table columns

When I increase the number of columns in a table, say from 9 to 11, what's
the best way to make sure they stay equal in width? The overall width of the
table must stay the same. In an earlier version of Publisher, it was
possible to type the desired width of each column. Has this function been
withdrawn?

What version Publisher could you set the width of each column?

In Publisher you will have to do the column and cell sizing manually. Grid guides
help. If your table has nine columns and fills the whole page, set the grid to 9
columns, when you add two more table columns do likewise in the arrange grid guide
menu, this will aid your positioning. If your table doesn't fill the whole page,
create the table in a new instance of Publisher, arrange the margins to the size of
the table, copy/paste into your main publication.
Word has this function...
