Setting to current date

I am using the Action form of the Contacts database, to
enter information into my database. Problem is, in my
database it always opens at January 1997, how do I set it
to be opened at the current date?

You need to tell us what always opens at Jan 1997 in your database.
Normally, database opens with a Startup Form if specified or the Database
Containers window. Perhaps, you meant a TextBox Control on the Start-up
Form???
