Could someone tell me how can I set up the time (i.e. 8

By entering it such as in 31-05-04 20:00
(or 08:00 pm I suppose, dependingon your settings)
You can see the time of day displayed:
Tools, Options, Date Format, select a format that has time of day
(but that is ot necessary to enter it; that you can anyhow)

it worked! Now, I would like to display the date and time
by the activity on the Gantt diagram. I have managed to
display the date but not the time. Would you be able to

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup
Firstly, you are stronly advised to never enter any dates and times other
than the Start Date of the Project. Project is designed to calculate Start
date from the Finish date of its precedecessor and the Finish date based on
the Duration of the task. Entering dates will cause constraints to be set
up which will adversely affect the flexibility of your project.
However, to answer your question, Format/Layout.../Date format and chose a
date with a time.
