Setting up outline levels

N

Nicholas Hetrick

We have a need to set up technical reports using the following levels

(1.) Centered Bold (Heading1)
(2.) Normal Text (Heading 2)
(3.) Italics. (Heading 3) Text starting on same line (Body
Text)

Out of ignorance and frustration, we are doing the following, which is does
not conform to the required standards

(1.) Centered Bold (Heading 1)
(2.) Normal Text (Heading 2)
(3.) Italics (Heading 3)
Text (Body Text)

Thank you in advance for any advise. Nicholas J

What you have here are four paragraph styles Heading1-3 and body text
You can format those styles to display any characteristics that you want.
The only difference between your heading3 and body text is the outline
numbering characteristic.

Which version of Word do you have? Word 2002 introduced the 'style
separator' concept which allows you to have two paragraph styles on the same
line. Before that you need to use a hidden paragraph end.
