Hello experts,
Due to repeated GMail outage, I am planning to get my all Gmails in Outlook
for
offline reading but don't really know core technical details of the
protocols so few
questions. I will be using Outlook 2003.
1. Me and my wife together would like to use Outlook without switching users
so I am wondering if we can setup two different profiles in outlook under
same user login. (We have only one user i.e. administrator on our XP machine)
2. I would like to setup outlook in following way -
i. When I pull mails in Outlook, I would like to pull all sent and inbox
mails.
ii. I would like to setup outlook in such a way that I should be able access
my emails on the web as well as outlook but if I check my mails online,
outlook should be able to pull those (read/replied) emails too. (At my work,
we use Apple mail and I have problem there, if I read new mails online, then
Apple mail can not import read/replied emails. Our admin doesn't know why?)
iii. If I delete my mails from outlook, they should be deleted online too.
Could you please advice me on which protocols I should be using so that my
setup
should look following way.
(I read on the web about POP vs IMAP but found conflicting information)
3. We both have multiple email accounts and I want to setup outlook in such
a way
that when I am replying to certain mail, it should reply from the account
where it came in from. Is this how Outlook acts by default or you have to
choose outgoing email ID everytime? If no, how?
Thank you very much for all help.
