I just got a cable modem. I've got a computer that has
two NIC's and I'm trying to set up NT 4.0 as a router,
using routing and remote access. I've tried statically
defining the route to the NIC connected to the cable modem
and also tried RIP, but I don't seem to be able to see the
internet from any other computers where I've made the
internal address on the router the default gateway.
Here's what I've got:
NIC 1: DHCP configured from Cable provider
NIC 2: Static internal address (192.168.200.1)
no gateway
Other machine points to 192.168.200.1 as gateway. I can
ping the internal NIC and the external NIC on the router
from the internal machine, but I cannot ping the outside
world. Read the articles, but could not see what was
going wrong.
