setting up subwebs

I have a question i am well aware how to do sub webs but here is my
question :

you have the following structure :
wwwroot
pdf
images
subweba
subwebb
etc

you use front page to edit and publish pages you create subweba & subwebb
only a people can edit in a and b people in b................but
the both need to write to pdf folder.........and they don't have write
access to the root

if they open their respective subweb through frontpage they can't see any
dirs ourside of this.....

how can this be overcome?????

thanks....

ps this is iis6 fp ext 2002 windows server 2003

You have to give them root web access.

You have to give them root web access.

so they would open up the root inside of frontpage as what author or
browser, see all subwebs and folders, pdf would be subweb or folder??
only set up staright ntfs permissions?? or somehow within sharepoint
administrator ??

then what if pdf had several folders but you only wanted them to write to
certain ones within ??

1. As author
2. A plain folder

or

3. Have you considered make the PDF folder a subweb and then give FTP access to those users that
need to upload documents?
