Setting Yahoo mail as the default email application

Tee

I have found multiple answers to setting the default email application in
Windows. I would like to set Yahoo mail as my default, but it is not listed
as an option in the Internet Properties email window. Only Outlook and
Windows Live are listed. I called the Yahoo help desk and they were no help.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

You can't AFAIK because yahoo mail is an email SERVICE, not an email CLIENT.
It is WEB based email. It uses a web browser (any web browser), not an
email client. Unless you pay for it, when you can use Outlook, Windows Mail,
or any other email client, all of which CAN be set as default email
application.

You need to choose a program that's installed on your PC as the default mail.

You can't choose a web site.

Hi Tee,

To add a bit to the previous answer, iIf you are using the Free Yahoo email
service, then it doesn't provide links to allow you to check it through
Outlook. If you're using the Yahoo Premium email service, MailPlus, then
you can hook the two up:
http://overview.mail.yahoo.com/enhancements/mailplus

Some ISPs, that have signed up to have Yahoo be their front end/home page
for you, may include the Premium Yahoo service as part of that, but you'd
need to check with your ISP or their website for that.
