We have a software application that installs both a set of office add-ins
(Outlook, Excel), and its own .Net Winform based application. There are
settings in both the domain controller and the individual security settings
of a machine to block extensions from being installed. So,
1. Is there any way to detect that extension will not be permitted by group
policy, or even application settings (office xp, 03, and 07)?
2. Is there a suggested MS way of handing failed installations to
communicate to end users of reasons why certain things do not work?
thanks in advance,
