Runtime Error 76 path not found.
Enviornment is MS Server 2000; SQL Server 2000. Firt time installation of MS
Project Server 2002 on this machine. I've reviewed knowledge base item 322235
and have failed to detect the source of the problem. Any other ideas? Any
guidance on how to troubleshoot?

John:

You're installing that old thing? Sounds like you've got FrontPage
extensions installed and they shouldn't be.

I wonder. STS was a superset of FP Extensions and as far as I can remember
you didn't need to remove FP extensions before installing STS.

You do of course have to do this before installing WSS ...

No apologies necessary. It took me quite a few minutes to remember what that
error indicated!

Thought that I would post the outcome of my efforts. Apparently the install
of sharepoint team services has some sensitivity to the location of the
installation cd, versus the target of the install. I was using remote
terminal services to log in to the target server, and had mapped a logical
drive to my local workstation. I had used this method in the past for various
software installs. Anyway, after struggling trying to get past this error I
searched the servers local "C" drive for a log file and found the log file
that detailed the installation process to the point of failure. It appeared
based on the content that the install was failing when attempting to access
the logical drive. I decided to load the installation cd on the cd drive
attached to the target server. This resolved the install problem and I have
completed the installation of Sharepoint Team Services. Thanks to all that
responded. BTW I realize I am installing back-level software however we
recently acquired this new server which was specifically acquired to host our
project server application. My hope is to build an parallel software platform
and port our existing Project Server data, and Sharepoint Team Services data
over to our new Server. Once the port is completed, I will then figure out
how to upgrade or migrate to the newer releases of the software.
