Setup I/O from internet domain to local Exchange server

On a SOHO network;

I have a small office network (three server...1 exchange, member and 1 DC,
AD w/DHCP, DNS,WINS).

We have xxx.local mail access inhouse, users can send and recieve messages
between the various users. We recently secured an internet ID joesys.com,
which has propagated on the net. The problem I am having is getting mail sent
to the internet domain to integrate with the local domain.

Joesys.com messages to be sent to and replied from Joesys.local.

The ISP and the registry (Networksolutions) assure me there is no blocking
on either site, so there must be a configuration or connectivity issue being
overlooked.

Any links and/or helpful advice detailing "How-to" or configuration info as
an example would be appreciated.

local network is DSL, (static IP addr), router (relay 25, 80, 110, 119,
143), router is also NATed, network (ad-integrated internal DNS, forwarding
to gateway, which forwards to ISP DNS), exchange server.

I'm sure I missed some info that may help resolve the problem...just ask.

Or should this question be directed to Exchange install configuration?

This is definitely a question better directed to the Exchange groups.

I appreciate hearing from someone, even if nearly a month has passed. I am
still flailing around with the problem. I have been able to forward messages
from the ISP to "(e-mail address removed)" from "(e-mail address removed)"...not the best
solution, but it works, in a fashion, for now.

I expected more, at least more timely response, from our trusty [MVP]'s.

Well, did you pose your question to the Exchange MVPs down the hall at microsoft.public.exchange.admin? They'd be the ones best equipped to deal with what apparently is an Exchange configuration issue, not an Outlook installation issue.
