Setup of Design View

I have inherited an Access 2007 db. Upon reviewing the selection of queries
I see that the previous developer preferred to view the query in much
different view than I am used to. In design view the columns and rows, for
lack of a better term, appear to be transposed. Columns resemble the
following:
Column Alias Table Output Sort_Type Sort_Order Criteria

How do I get this back to the normal view (normal being what is shown in
most books and web sites)?

Perhaps you want the SQL view. That shows the actual SQL statement.

The actual SQL statement is certainly one way to go but since I am more
familiar with the UI I was hoping to utilize this approach. I have just
found out that my file is an ADP (which I am currently researching on what
this actually means) and was wondering is this bares some importance to my
earlier question.
