Setup OL 2000 Account in Vista/IE7

I've installed Office 2000 on a Vista Home Professional platform with IE7.
Obviously, OutLook Express is not available.

It took a while, but I finally got OutLook 2000 to open properly (configured
with MS Mail, or whatever it is that works with IE7 -- Not at THAT computer
right now.)

The problem is that I cannot setup my EMail/POP/SMTP account information in
OutLook 2000, so I can't sent and receive EMail from OutLook. I can't find
the place in OL 2000 to setup an Account.

What do I do?

Give up since Outlook 2000 is not supported on Windows Vista and use Windows
Mail instead (Windows Mail is the successor to Outlook Express and will be
on your Vista box). Or just purchase Outlook 2003 or 2007.

I am sorry to disagree with you on this. Vista does support Office 2000 but MS does not support Office 2000 as far as issues are concerned.

The OP has to go to OL\Tools\E-Mail accounts just like in Office 2003. He needs to set it up there. If he does not know what to input for POP3 in there then he would need to ask his ISP for the correct info on the POP3 to be inputted.

There is a small issue for the wab.dll using Outlook 2000 and it happens to SOME only and to all. There is a fix for that if it happens

Windows Mail is the new Outlook Express, as seen in Vista

If I remember correctly, its in Tools>Accounts.
I assume you are aware OL2k is not fully compatible with Vista?

point taken, point taken. Just the old support person in me saying 'If the
company doesn't support it, I wouldn't do it'. If only software was like a
car, where you could get under the hood yourself.

FH is correct... it is not supported. Microsoft is wrong in saying that it
is supported since they have no intention of ever "supporting" it to the
point it works correctly. For best results, either switch to Vista Mail and
Calendar or upgrade.
