setupapi.dll access violation while attempting to reinstall Epson C82 printer

Laura

I am having a problem trying to reinstall my Epson C82
printer. Everytime, from either their drivers on their
website, the CD that comes with the printer or the Add
Printer, when I get to a point, I get an access violation
from setupapi.dll. "Setup caused an access violation in
setupapi.dll at 0x766714b9." I have uninstalled the
printer and software, and now it will not reinstall
either. I tried to clean the registry, but was unable to
delete a few keys. I think this might have something to
do with the fact that I installed it first locally and
then tried to install it as a network printer. Any
suggestions will help. Epson is useless and can't help.
