Sginatures are in Ivory even though Black is the font color

When I try set up a signature in the closing section of my e-mails (Outlook
2002), the font color is ivory on the white background even though I select
Automatic (Black) or Black or any other colr for that matter. What is the
problem?

I am having the same problem with a end-user. The font color is black, and
the signature shows up in the preview, but when a new message is created, the
signature is effectively invisible. There is no stationary being used.
Manually changing the font color to Navy did not effect anything. I found a
work around by having him create his signature in a word document (saved as
htm) and set his stationary to use this file, and change the signature
setting to none. This works, but doesn't answer why it is happening in the
first place.
