Shading an Image

Hello,

I am working on a network diagram and devices (i.e., switches, routers, etc)
are being removed. I would like to shade or "grey-out" these images and
connecting lines. Is thispossible?

BTW... I am using layers to perform this task. I am looking for a solution
where I don't have to turn layering on and off to show the changes.

if actual image....could overlay a visio shape then have it, under UI, go
from clear to translucent

If shapes, can do same with shape (either from UI or from actions drop down

....and then there's the obvious, select the shape change it's fill and line
to gray; likewise, select the connecting lines and change their color to gray.

One additional note, by minor modification to the shapesheet, it is possible
to switch back and forth between default color and grayed out via right click
menu.
