Shading

I am working in Word 2003 XP. I've placed a text box on a page and inserted a
picture into it. I've then grouped both. I added a colour shading and box
outline but it doesn't show on my working screen, only in the print preview.
I am working in print view. Can anyone explain why the colours aren't showing
please?

If you have Windows XP, click on Start | Control Panel | Accessibility
Options | Display tab | uncheck the "Use high contrast" box | OK.
