Shadow Text Fading

Hi Community,

How do I prevent shadowed text from fading in a PPT file that has been used
and reopened. After each use of a PPT file with shadowed text, upon
reopening the file a day or so later, some of the shadowed text will have
faded, but still show the shadow. Help, help!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the text has "faded." Could you
give us a bit more information there? Is this during slide show view or when
you're editing or what?

Echo,

After typing text on a PPT slide, I format it by selecting the "shadow"
option to make the text look bolder. However, I may have solved my problem
upon discovering that when I click the edge of a text box (a dash rectangular
box) , it becomes a solid line rectangular box (is this a text placeholder?).
Now I can format everything in the text placeholder and the formatting is
fixed unless I change it later. This is not the case with a text box. Hope
this clarifies my explanation.

Hm.

A placeholder is the automatic textbox that appears on slides and says
"click here to add text," or something similar.

You can select text inside the placeholder, or you can select the
placeholder itself by clicking its edge (and then the outline becomes
solid).

A "manual" textbox is one that's added from the Shapes Gallery or Drawing
Toolbar, depending on which version of PPT. You can select text inside it,
or you can select the entire textbox, same as with a placeholder.

I'm still not clear on what you mean by "faded," but if you've resolved it,
that's great.
