Shape info, Connections and Callouts

I have a visio document which passes information along from shape to shape. I
want to be able to:

Select a connection point manually.

Look at the shapes involved and take info from them.

Display this info for the user to see.

Callouts do a similar thing but they aren't consistent which shape they
connect to when connected to a connection point. If I could have a way of
finding out the shape that is connected at the connection point that the
callout connects to then i would be able to do what i need to do.

I hope this makes sense!

any help is greatly appreciated.

there are some good examples and samples of working with connections in the
v2003 sdk. regarding displaying of information for the connections you might
consider storing it as custom properties and then using field data to
display it.

We don't have the v2003 sdk and its not really a viable option to install it.

i just need some way of the user selecting a connection between two shapes
and then i need to find out which two shapes are involved in the chosen
connection.

I know the sdk is free but we cannot use it due to IT intsallation
restrictions.

Have already tried the macro create and it doesn't give any useful
information.

Is there anyway of getting callouts to didplay user defined cells instead of
prop cells?

Alternatively is there any way of viewing the addons that are run with
callout shapes so i can use suitable bits of their code?

Many thanks,

James
